Thank you for your interest in a worktrade position at Moon Mountain Gathering!
The deadline for applying for a worktrade position is February 18th, 2017. You will be notified of your acceptance BY March 1st. There are a limited amount of worktrade spaces, so please apply early.
Full-time Worktraders are required to pay a $75 fee that covers the cost of your food for the week and work a total of (25) hours either before, during, or after the gathering. In exchange, you will receive admission for all workshops and yoga classes, camping, and (2) meals each day.
Setup + Decorations
You will spend (4) days before the gathering working with the grounds crew to prepare the gathering site. This will include light manual labor and plenty of opportunity for artistic endeavors. Since you will be arriving early, be prepared to be a bit more self-sufficient and have everything you need to support yourself for the days leading up to the gathering (food, shelter, etc.). The days before the gathering are "all hands on deck", so please come with loads of energy and a willingness to help out where needed. If you are a talented natural builder, earth mandala creator, or natural sculptor this position will be the perfect job for you! This position will require you to arrive to the land on Saturday, September 2nd, but you will have the freedom to enjoy the gathering without worktrade obligations once it begins.
Registration / Parking / Maintenance
In this position, you will be able to get the majority of your worktrade hours accomplished the first day of the gathering, leaving you free to enjoy the workshops. Registration and parking requires someone who is willing to put in the energy at the beginning to help get everyone in the gates and settled. This will possibly require shuttling to and from the camp ground, so please have a valid drivers license and be comfortable behind the wheel. You will complete the rest of your hours throughout the gathering by picking up maintenance shifts and keeping the grounds orderly, communal areas clear and outhouses stocked.
The kitchen is the heart of the gathering. This the perfect position for someone who has a love of food and sharing it with others. This position will require you to work with animal products, so please be comfortable handling eggs, meat, and cheese. Be prepared to work in a primitive kitchen environment and take on a couple early morning shifts (breakfast shifts start at 6 am). If you have experience cooking for large groups, please let us know in your application!
In this position you will stay an extra day or two after the gathering to help clear and clean the grounds. This may include assisting with shuttling from the campground to the parking area.
Marketing + Spirit Team Sisters
Do you live in the Bay Area? Santa Cruz? Southern California? Oregon? Are you a traveling gypsy? We are seeking women to join our Spirit Team and spread the word about Moon Mountain Gathering across the West Coast and beyond! We will send you all of the marketing materials you need and you can keep doing what you do. All Spirit Team Sisters will receive a discounted ticket for the work that you do (amount $ tbd).
All Worktraders will be required to arrive at the site no later than 5 pm on Tuesday, September 5th (unless otherwise noted) and stay through the afternoon of Sunday, September 10th. You are also required to give (30) days notice if you cannot attend for any reason.
